Joe and I decided to visit Savannah as our Valentine's Day activity. It was a short trip, but filled with a lot of fun. We had an opportunity to see many of the locations from the movies Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and Forrest Gump. Our trip also included a visit to see the Lady Chablis (from Midnight fame) as well as Paula Deen's restaurant The Lady & Sons.

North Carolina Vacation Day 1 - Tubing in Helen, Georgia

So the extended Allen family vacation officially began today, July 2, with a trip tubing down the Chattahoochee River near Helen, Georgia. It turns out that the term "river" was quite an exageration, as our butts were mostly dragging along the bottom -- that is, when we weren't stuck in rocks.
